Yeah, that is a good idea.
like i'm not too sure on the policy about cursing. so i try not to do it. and when i do i us little *'s and such..
but it would be nice to have that all cleared up.
but i also think people know the general rules that most sites abide by,
so idk.
but good suggestion.

i don't mind cursing, but i'm not sure what the admin thinks about it, so i'm staying clear from it for now. i was thinking of things like discussing pirated music (already been discussed), pornographic material, and some other basic rules like that.

yeah, that's what i mean. well, i would rather not have pornographic material on here. just as a general rule. because, you know, i'm not really into that. but cursing is my main worry. because if i get deleted or something. i'm definatly going to cry. so i think i will be stopping into the admin is more clear about it.

No one would ever get deleted/banned without warning, just FYI.
I'll get together a rules thread ASAP. I think that some swearing should be fine. There are younger fans, but I don't think we're going to see a lot of < 10 year olds. I'll put a filter on really bad words, how about that?

Rules (version 1.0) have been posted in the Shiny Toy Guns Discussion board. Please read over them and let me know if you can think of any good additions or changes. Thanks for your help, guys!

might i suggest putting that same thread at the top of all the boards (if possible) so that no one would be able to use the excuse of "not seeing it beforehand".

Ack, lets not get too carried away with rules... Leave it at what it is. I've seen some forums fall apart because of their strict crappy rules. Most of us here are adult enough to handle swearing and other "mature" words. So basically I'm highly against filters.
Attacking other members and spam are good things to keep off the site. But if people are having an argument, there shouldn't be any warnings or whatever.. It's normal and WILL happen. Like I said, I used to be part of a forum that turned into Nazi Germany for crying out loud. You get into a bicker and they ban u for certain amounts of time. It's ridiculous.
So let's not get carried away with rules and restrictions. Let's just enjoy it all.

well, i think that the rules thread that's up is good enough. it's simple, and has just the relaxed rules that we need. i just think that it should be clearly seen so that new users know to read it first before posting.

Yeah, like I said... If it stays at that.. I'm fine. I don't exactly dig the filters at all. But whatever.

Yeah, I have been a moderator on that kind of board and although I didn't exactly agree with all the rules, I must admit that that forum basically fell apart. I think the rules are fine. If there are any altercations that need to be taken care of, the admin could always take care of them in a fair and logical manner. =]

Well, they posted a rules forum. and they seem pretty basic to follow. nothing illegal or pornographic. and no hating or too much cursing, but it's not against the rules to curse.
sounds good to me. i'm down with that. :]

You should have an option to turn off word filtering now. I'm only trying to keep some of the more offensive words from being openly used/seen.

I think there should be a rule about TRIPPLE posting. I mean, double posting should be fine as long as they are of substance, but if there are three posts in a row that have absolutely NO substance at all, then that just gets annoying. =/
