Before you get too excited, I still love STG with all of my heart, so take a breath and sit down.
Why do I think I understand? Exhibit: The Killers and Panic at the Disco. Both of those bands...well, I was obsessed with their first albums. Seriously, I could not get enough. And then their sound changed so much from their first releases, my world came crashing down, and I sort of moved on after that. These days, I do enjoy the Killers new music (I've adjusted to their sound), but I still long for what I originally fell in love with.
So see? I might understand the Carah fans a little. And somehow, I don't dislike them completely anymore because I get it.
Let's be honest guys, has anyone else experienced this with a band? I know we can't love every band forever, so surely I'm not the only one. I'm feeling like we need a little more love and forgiveness in the world, so let's here it guys. Spill.

**** them.
If Sisely was thrown out I wouldn't act like some immature brat and go around plaguing every STG video on youtube with stupidity. Most of them don't even know the whole story. Not that any of us really do.
And to make the situation even worse... I've known people who've listen to SOP... like it... didn't realize it wasn't Carah singing until someone told them. Suddenly SOP sucked and STG suck and everything sucked.
Forgive them? Hell no. They don't deserve to be STG fans.
(And The Killer's latest album was amazing, I thought)
PS - I'm not angry with you. lol

The reason STG does what it does to me is because of a) amazing instrumental sound, and b) Chad's voice. For me personally, the lady singers are a great addition, but they don't make the band or the band's sound. As long as I can hear Chad sing, I'll love it forever. Maybe that makes me a Chad fan, but I also think that his voice wouldn't sound the same without the music Jeremy creates to go along with it.
And that's where I stand. I love the ladies of STG, but they don't define the sound for me.

Well...I didn't say I understood the immaturity aspect of it all. That I can't wrap my head around. But Matt, this was supposed to be for sharing if you've ever fell out with a band. Have you really stayed in love with every band you've ever listened to? (For the record, I don't hate The Killers; I do own all of their CDs. I just don't listen to them as much anymore.) I think my thread is a big failure. I guess I'm the only one who can sort of see their point of view (the falling out of love with the sound of a band part). I'm not saying I think they're right for acting the way the do and I'm not saying that I understand completely how they could leave STG either.

I guess I have a hard time understanding that point of view because if I find myself falling out of love with a band, I usually analyze my relationship with that music, and study the changes to see why. And that usually brings me right back into love with them. And a thread is not a failure unless NO ONE RESPONDS. And you have responses. You can't control conversation.

Well, to be fair... Sisely had something to do with the sound of Season of Poison. She did write some of it. Whereas Carah only sang and occasionally played an instrument. Still I see what you're saying. I mean, would we really freak out if Mikey was no longer part of the band? Not really. Would we miss him? Definitely. But in STG, the drummer and the female vocalists are, for the most part, smaller roles. That being said, their part is STILL needed to make the band whole. But I do have a question for you, Alli. If Chad were to decide tomorrow that this next STG album would be his last and that he and Jeremy were looking for a good replacement... How would you feel? Would you still listen to them after he's done and gone? Well...I didn't say I understood the immaturity aspect of it all. That I can't wrap my head around. I'm not saying I think they're right for acting the way the do and I'm not saying that I understand completely how they could leave STG either. I've never fallen out of love with a band. There are some I don't listen to anymore, but I still respect them. It was mostly a "I grew out of it" thing. I do have a slight grudge against The Bravery... For going from awesome to MTV douche-bags. But I don't hate them and do enjoy some of the **** from their second album. But that's a far more drastic change than losing Carah. Carah was a supporting role in Chad and Jeremy's show. People seem to forget that. They all love We Are Pilots, but will trash Chad and Jeremy for kicking out Carah (and we don't even know if that's what really happened). They don't get that Carah DIDN'T write WAP... She didn't create the sound of WAP... She sang a few songs. Her voice is incredible, yes... But she's still not the talent behind that album. So acting all butt-hurt over her leave was just ridiculous. It's one thing to be sad over it... It's another to act like a complete jack-ass. This thread is not a failure, either. It's just one that calls for some debate. Which is fine.

The very thought of that makes my stomach disappear and my limbs tremble. I guess that's bound to happen one day... where he just stops singing. It will kill me, though, to be sure. I will still give the new STG a sincere try, but it definitely wouldn't be the same for me, and it might break my heart to keep listening to new stuff that doesn't have Chad. I would rather they rename the band if they did that. I think it would just become "another band" that I would probably like. It's hard to say because even without his vocals, Chad brings lyrics and music to the band along with Jeremy, so the sound would change probably. It really would become a new band. Now, excuse me, I need to go have some therapy to deal with the trauma you just put me through. *curls in a corner to cry*

I can't see Jeremy going on with STG without him. Sorry for the trauma. I guess I wont tell you what I heard from Jeremy about Chad.

Okay...I know it's not a failure. In Kara-land I like to imagine that everyone has the same type of understanding as me. I was a little surprised at first, but I understand what you're both saying better now. I mean, would we really freak out if Mikey was no longer part of the band? Not really. Would we miss him? I see what you're saying. I guess for me falling out of love and growing away from a band are synonymous. I definitely don't hate any of the bands that I no longer listen to. I appreciate them for what they were to me.

Sorry for the trauma. I guess I wont tell you what I heard from Jeremy about Chad.
Two things: 1 - If you have heard something about Chad and aren't telling me, I'll kill you. Go tell me right now. 2 - If you're just trying to mess with my head some more, I'll kill you. So go tell me before I fall apart.

I guess he wants to go further with his guitar work or something.

Okay... I might maybe be crying for real, but only maybe, and not a lot. If I was, I mean. Not that I am.
I'm going to go away now and be alone for a while.
But if anyone finds my heart, can you try to save it? I think it's dying in a ditch somewhere, and I'm worried.

You. Don't. Even. Know. There are no words. And coming from, that's saying something. *hugs Matty* But I'm so glad it isn't true... I can't even handle it. You broke my heart, Matty. That was a horrible thing to do to me.

I agree. I do understand the love that the fans had for Carah. But at the same time, being the HUGE fan I am, It gets on my nerves that they thought that Carah MADE the band. Not as in creating but making the band the juggernaut it is.
People like to argue with the Carah fans on YT and such for hours, even days about who is better or whatever. I just stopped caring because who we like is up to us. What makes a fan is someone who still supports all the band's choices. Even when theres a song or two they don't like, or if the sound changed.
Kara, I'm the same way with Avenged Sevenfold. They have changed greatly over the years. I have all their albums, and dvds. I even have 2 A7x shirts. But At the moment, i find myself not a HUGE of a fan as I once was. but I still love the music and listen to it, just not as much. This all happened before their drummer died, BTW.
