I'm trying out new.. newness for the forum. Color and pictures. This is mostly just to test out the capacity for change. So far, this is what I've found how to do.

So what do you all think? What do you think the forum should look like?

What would it look like if the white parts were given a darker shade? Slightly darker that is.

anyway, not just the smilies but...

wtf now there's blue text and a shiny disco ball in the background?!? Well, I actually quite like that and hope it stays this way for a while.

But anyway, I noticed the little thing under our names saying if we're online or not is different. And the stars for the mods are different too. Alli's is this burnt orangish color while Matty's and Lash's are blue. Before, the mods all had the same yellowish/orange color with the stripes if I'm not mistaken. o.O

now we just need to change the banner on the top of the page page to these four pictures: clicky

The forum is getting a major remodeling. The mods have been discussing it for a while... Trying to get a hold of STG.net... And finally she gave admin rights to Alli.

So hold on to your butts...

Yes. It needs to go. It is irking the living bullfrog out of me. I mean, I liked the banner for a while, but I really want a new one. To match all the wonderful new stuff.


P.S. I don't know why, but that disco ball made me immediately think of Mirror Machines. lol. Especially because back when Queen Alli made that ode to us now living in a world of mirrors and light, my thoughts went straight to the Girls Le Disko cover.

Wow! Congrats Ali! This is going to be so weird to think of you as the admin now.

My suggestion would be to make the default posting color a little darker so that it's easier to read.

I like the new happy faces.

And the "highlight" of the links up top (home, search, profile, etc.) looks a little wonky. Not sure if it's my computer or what...

Before, was everything in a post/board the same color? Seems like nothing stands out now that all the words are the same shade of blue. Like the title/subject, people's info on the left, sigs, etc.

I think I'll get used to it, but my eyes don't really know where to look first (which should be the text of the post). The best way I can describe it is: you know how artists (I'm talking old school, back in the day guys) use bright colors and lines to sort of lead your eyes around the painting to help you "see" it (and understand the feeling they're trying to show)? Well, it seems we don't have a focus anymore because everything is the same color.

Understood. The site is far from done. The text will be sorted out. I've made some other requests as well within the MOD section.

Totally. I'm toying with the text colors because I can. Last night I mostly sped through to make it so nothing clashed. It'll take some polishing to make everything shine.

When you say "white parts" do you mean the forum aspects of white? or the disco-mirrors aspect of white?

Yeah, I totally didn't notice those highlight tabs were off until after I'd left the html edit. I was grumbly when I noticed them.  I'm going to change them up, probably later tonight or tomorrow (insane work week)
