Well, yes, but everyone who bids appears as "letter-***-letter" or "number-***-number". It's to protect people's identities. But I get where you're going with this...the winner probably had some sort of sniping software. How else does someone win by a few dollars in the last few seconds? It's dumb.

Here's a copy of version 2, and it's over in 2 days, and the price is nice and low right now. 8 bucks!

Different track listing, it contains some songs that didn't make it to v3, and some of the songs sound different than on the v3 version.

*sigh*

I want it so bad.

I think the trick is to wait until near the end and put in your max bid. That way other bidders can't see that you're trying to get it until too late.

The way ebay is supposed to work is that you put in the highest value you're willing to pay for it, then leave it alone.  If you win at your max, you should still be happy, by definition.  If you get it for less, you should be even happier.

The issue is that it's sometimes tough to decide the price at which you would no longer be happy to win (and pay for) it.  So often I'll bid a safe price and if no one out bids me, I didn't have to flex any brain muscles making a tough decision.  That very reason is why so many people bid at the last second.  They don't want to give people (who only chose a safe price) a chance to reconsider and go even higher...but of course if everyone would just figure out what the highest they're willing to go was from the beginning, that would all be moot.

I'm sure no one needed an ebay lesson and yet I wrote that out anyway. Huh?  Not erasing it now, lol.

Nah 7, I think it's great that you put that out here. It makes a lot of sense. I think it's good for people to hear it. Smiley

After all, I know I've ended bidding more than I wanted just because I wanted to win, and still ended up loosing. It's like you get caught up in it, so I agree, it's best to enter your max and walk away. I'm getting better at learning to walk away.

Anyway, I like your comment, so good job. Smiley

There's another v2 up on Ebay. It comes with the Free Fall Melody single as well.
Currently, it's up to $30.55 and ends in a little over a day.

Anyway, I hope someone we know and love (friendly forum love, that is) gets it!!!

I feel lucky that I found a copy of v2 in a resale/used music shop over Thanksgiving. I don't have to deal with the ebay craziness now. Smiley

i'm confused, what does an "independent pressing" mean.  does that mean it's different from other v2's or that's just the way the seller is phrasing v2?

Haha, yeah. I've been looking in them for a while now. Most of the time it's completely useless, but sometimes I get lucky and find something good.

Sidecho Records is an independent record label. So, I suppose that's why the seller is referring to the CD as an "independent pressing".

Hmmm, so you're the one who forked over $75 for it Tongue I'm very poor and broke at the moment.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330384692702&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

I guess the bright side is that it's buy it now?

i didn't win it either.  i can't go above $70 ish, and even then that's more than i can afford.  i you never know how high it's going to go!  i think i'd go a little higher for a v1 than for a v2.
