Hey guys I was looking at the album  cover for We Are Pilots and it got me thinking what is the tree exactly supposed to symbolize, so if any you guys know or just want to brainstorm we might be able to figure it out.
Maybe a start, or maybe the branches are more symbolic

I'm not sure.
But I will say it's an amazing picture.
Maybe they just liked it.
I know I do! [:

I also wondered what the symbolizes.
but it's pretty. Super pretty.
In fact, I found a necklace online that looks exactly like it. I was thinking about buying it just to show my STG pride. xD

Yeah, when I bought the album I wondered what the tree was for. I just think it fits the sound of the music in the background. Not the lyrics but the electronica parts.
I've always believed that electronica music fits nature, when you listen to something like a song from the Anjunabeats label and you look at something like the sky, a setting, a tree, etc it seems to fit perfectly. It also depends on what the weather is like.

Yeah, I've wondered what the tree symbolized a lot.
And I'm still coming up with a blank.
I'm just not very good at stuff like that, you know.
Seriously, I couldn't find a meaning in something if it poo'd on my shoe.
:]

But I think the picture it totally amazing. I really love it.
I wish I had a huge poster of it to put up on my wall.
That would be beast.

AHH, dude. Same here.
I can imagine people staring at it, and going 'why do you have a poster of a tree?'
Haha. If only they knew...

I think your right about that because with the season of poison cover if you listen to Blown away on youtube and look at the cover they really seem to fit in with each other, kind of like theyre synced

im not sure what it means either but i think it has something to do with the tree being in the middle of the desert. that picture was my desktop background for a long time so i studied it a lot. other art from the album shows the band in the desert but i dont know what that means either lol

I think it's supposed to symbolize the journey they took to get to that point.

A desert is dead... Very little life. It's like a young poor man's mind... They have great hopes and dreams (a large desert) but have very little belief in achieving those dreams (the lack of life). But out in the desert, a large black tree grows. This was Shiny Toy Guns' mind. They went from a little sprout in the desert .... and after losing a singer, re creating their album  few times, dropping songs and working harder on others, they finally realized who they were and what their mission was.

The tree extends up into the blue sky, inviting us into their world. And day by day, they'll turn their one single tree into a forest. For us and themselves to live in.

"We Are Pilots" They've taken control of their lives and turned what usually is a hopeless dream, into a living breathing reality.

Wow.
That's a pretty amazing analysis.
I think you're probably right, or close to it.
Or if that's not what they wanted it to symbolize, at least you've proven yourself to be pretty intelligent!
Cheesy

I think my favorite part about the case itself is when you open it, take the cd out and see "Look here please: we love you. and we are yours forever. shiny toy guns"

That makes my day.

I doubt it's how they saw it.... lol Chances are I put too much thought into it and they really just thought it was a cool picture. lol Ah well, it's how I see it at least.

Well i was thinking that maybe the tree symbolizes the start of something new, and because its in the middle of the desert and ascending into the sky it could mean getting from somewhere to where they are or want to go

it's not hard for normal people,
but i just don't think like that at all. i see something
and don't read at all into it.
usually i just think "that's so pretty/cool'
or 'ew.'
my friends have been trying to help me work on it. :]

The tree stand in defiance.... Like it's telling the desert, "You can't take me down."
