For those of you who are on Versant's mailing list, you should have gotten their first letter today. It was nice. My heart made music.  I suggest subscribing to them. (Especially since secret fun is coming up for people subscribed!  ) I read that this morning too! It made me happy that they were actually communicating to their fans.  |

This is most of what they said. There were some pictures with captions, but since I don't know how to get those pictures in here, I removed the captions (because they didn't really make sense without the pictures). Newsletter #1 March 2010 Welcome to our first Newsletter. We are writing to update you with all things Versant! In March, the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) notified us that "Push Away" had been selected as a finalist for the Grand Prize and individual “Rock” category for song of the year. ISC finalists were chosen out of approximately 15,000 entrants, making this super exciting for us while we put the finishing touches on our EP. Winners will be selected in April. Please wish us and all of the other contestants luck! Writing good songs is hard stuff and we're honored to even be mentioned. As a side competition, they let the fans vote on what is the best song! This competition is called “The People's Voice”. At the writing of this letter, we are in post-production on our EP set for release this summer. We intend on giving out a release date very soon but, we need to clear the air first. We just didn't have enough time to do both, so as a unit decided to decline a special invitation from the SXSW people in order to concentrate on releasing material in anticipation of touring out 2010. We apologize for the confusion and hope you stick with us as we draw closer to a release. Its been a long road for us and we love you for being patient. We love you so much, that we will personally reward each one of you on our email list. More information about a release date and what that reward will be VERY soon. Here is a clue: “Free” As stated earlier, we are in post-production for our EP. Its currently being mixed by Michael Ilbert at the world famous Hansa Mix Room in Berlin, Germany.
