Seriously? If I wanted a rant I could of have lisen to Glen Beck...  No one forced you to listen. But if you're gonna speak, expect others to talk back. To be honest, the whole "I LUF VERSANT <3" ****e is like.. delusional fan boy crap. Key word being delusional, considering Versant has released only a few songs AND wasted a lot of their fans' time with falsity. "Oh, the album with be out this year." "Oh nvm, it'll be out next year." "It's gonna be our debut album!" "Oh nvm, it's not even going to be a full album. Oh, did we tell you we're in Sweden? Cool-beans, right? We love you, our fans! Very impatient person. probily because I'm a Carah lover and I have more bands to preoccupie myself with, and I'm okay with just an ep, because it's just a preview of what to come...  We don't need a preview. We already have one. And Versant already has a huge fanbase. If they were completely unknown, an EP as a debut release would make sense. But in this case, it does not. It's almost as though they're insecure over their music and are looking for fan approval. Which is never the sign of a good artist. And to be honest, I have better things to do then sit by and wait for a band to release stuff, I lisen to STG's old Stuff just ease up the friction... We all have better things to do (I think), but that's not the point. We're not talking about your daily activities. We're talking about Versant. I never said you were or should be. I was mocking Carah. All I ever hear from her is "I love you guys!" and Sweden-this Sweden-that. It's like, yeah.. We get it. You moved to Sweden and are performing for it's people. Great. At this point I'd respect them more if they'd just come out (and I mean someone other than Carah) and say "Look, scratch the EP.. We're gonna spend a little more time making the album full and complete. This obviously means a little more waiting, but it'll be worth it. I can't give a good estimate as to when we'll be done, but within 2010 seems reasonable." |

An EP usually has up to around a half hour of music. Which is no good. At least, not good enough in my opinion. For a debut, you wanna come in strong. A full album that can always be marked as your starting point. I realize MANY bands start with EPs. But it's not necessary with Versant. Versant has Carah and Carah had a huge fan base before Versant was even born. She has fans crazy enough to follow her even if Versant sucks major ass (chesire). There's no reason at all as to why they couldn't create a full album. If Carah wanted it enough, she could have gotten it. Especially with Daniel Johansson in on it. Versant is known, loved and desired. Give the ****ing fans a full album. |

Matty just likes to express and make sure people know his opinions. That doesn't mean he'll accost someone about it though, as he respects people who are respecting him.
Anyway, I agree with Matty on the "we've decided to give you a full album, so please wait while we make it perfect" announcement being a much nicer deal. I find it most annoying that we were promised a full album, had that pushed back, pushed back again, and then reduced to an EP.
Are they having writer's block? Can they not come up with new stuff?

Plus, the band became a band because they have a similar drive in musical tastes. If they were too different in what they wanted, they'd fall apart. And maybe they will. I hope not, but I hardly will excuse them for having a hard time writing music because of their musical tastes.

Never said it wasn't hard. I simply feel they have no good excuses for lying about and cheapening a great deal of what their fans have been waiting for. 2009 to 2010. Full album to EP. Not a good start for them. Not at all. The sad fact is, the delusional fans will continue to worship the band no matter what. So Carah and crew will always think they're doing fine. Which means there's a chance they'll keep screwing the fans over... Unless of course they get their **** together. Being a band is their job. Do it right, or gtfo. |
